Adam Art Gallery Art History in Practice Seminar Series: Peter Brunt

Peter Brunt of the Victoria University Art History department will be giving a talk today (Thursday, September 10th, 2015) at 5.15:

In this seminar, Victoria University of Wellington Art History lecturer Peter Brunt will reflect on his involvement in two current projects concerned with exhibiting Oceania. The first is his historical work on the cross-cultural partnership between Wallis Islander Aloi Pilioko and French-Russian emigre Nicolai Michoutouchkine, who forged careers as artists, collectors and global exhibitors of Oceanic art from the 1950s to the 1990s. The second is his curatorial role in a forthcoming exhibition on Oceania at the Royal Academy of Arts in 2018.

All welcome, free entry.

Art History in Practice is a regular series of seminars showcasing the ‘work’ of art history in which established and emerging art historians working inside and outside the academy present on their current and recent research.
