Enjoy Gallery: Call for Participants (applications close Wednesday 16th September)

Enjoy Gallery is hosting a reviewing workshop with Rosabel Tan ‘Tell them what you think’ from Friday October 9th - Sunday October 11th - both established art critics and aspiring reviewers are invited to apply. Tan is the founding editor of The Pantograph Punch which you can check out here
Here’s a wee summary of the event from Enjoy:
“Art criticism and reviewing are surfing shifts brought about by the introduction of online platforms, while still grappling with the entangled human structure of New Zealand’s arts community. This workshop will cover the practicalities of art criticism (like getting published) as well as the broader contexts at play: what good art writing looks like, how that’s changed, and what the purpose of criticism really is. It will be a chance to discuss arts criticism as a form and to workshop a piece of your own writing with Rosabel and a group of peers. The workshop will take place over three days; Friday will be devoted to discussion, Saturday will be a free day for reading the writing of others in the group, and we will return to the gallery on Sunday for some hands-on workshopping.”
To apply, you need only email comms@enjoy.org.nz with:
• A little bit about yourself, including a short reflection on what you’d like to change or improve about your art writing,
• A couple of questions or a sentence or two that give us an idea of what you’re interested in discussing, or what you hope to gain from participating,
• Two samples of your writing (not necessarily visual arts). Each participant is expected to bring a piece of their own writing to the workshop.
Applications close Wednesday 16th September !!
